Nvidia DLSS Support Finally Comes to Red Dead Redemption 2 Next Week

Red Dead Redemption 2 will finally support DLSS with the July 13 Blood Money update for Red Dead Online We've known for over a month that DLSS would be implemented in Red Dead, and this cowboy adventure has been a boost! I was looking forward to seeing it run at the boosted frame rate. [Even if you haven't played Red Dead Online or didn't like how Red Dead Redemption 2 ran on your RTX-powered system, it's worth getting the update to see the improvements firsthand. Despite being more than two years old, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the most graphically demanding games on the rig. Running the game smoothly at high graphics settings, even on the latest RTX 30 series GPUs, proved to be quite a daunting task, even at the highest settings we suggested.

DLSS (or Deep Learning Supersampling) is a quick and easy way to properly increase the frame rate of a game when using Nvidia RTX series GPUs DLSS "harnesses the power of NVIDIA RTX TensorCores to to increase frame rates and produce sharp frames that approach or exceed native rendering," using AI-powered upscaling techniques. Sadly, there doesn't appear to be any ray tracing support (if any) yet. However, if this will allow us to play Red Dead Online and get even more fps out of the previous generation RTX 20 series cards while we wait for the upgrade, then all the best.
