General
A full-featured gaming laptop with GeForce RTX 3080 costs $1,870.

The rule of thumb when buying the best gaming laptop is to pick the best GPU you can afford. In other words, you can't replace it like you can RAM or storage (which also varies from model to model). On that note, Gigabyte's Aorus 15G YC with GeForce RTX 3080 is available now for $1,869.99 after rebate and comes with several perks.

Newegg has this beast of a laptop reduced from $2,299.99 to $2,069.99. In addition, a $200 mail-in rebate applies, saving $430 off the list price. In addition, there are a couple of free gifts: six months free access to GeForce Now and a download code for Death Stranding.

If this looks familiar, that's because it's the same Aorus 15G base model we reviewed earlier this year (and which won an Editor's Pick award), but with more powerful specs. Namely, it has an RTX 3080 instead of an RTX 3070 and a 1TB SSD instead of 512GB.

Otherwise, it has the same Core i7 10870H processor (8C/16T, 2.2GHz-5GHz, 16MB L3 cache) and 32GB of RAM, 15.6" (IPS) with 1920x1080 resolution and a very fast 240Hz refresh rate It is packaged in a package. The laptop's display is individually calibrated at the factory.

Returning to the GPU, not all mobile amp parts are created equal, even on the same model. In this case, this is a lower-end mobile RTX 3080 model (105W) with 8GB of GDDR6 memory instead of 16GB and a boost clock of 1,245MHz. This is a bit disappointing, but still a robust GPU.

Overall, this is a fast gaming laptop with high-end specs that should last a long time before you'll want to upgrade again.
