Job ad says Ubisoft's new studio will open in Australia

Ubisoft is currently seeking an Australian-based game development position and has hinted at a new studio based in Sydney. Ubisoft already has an office in Sydney that focuses on the Australian market, but has not previously been involved in game development.

The roles will be varied, but based on the job description, the studio will be a "AAA game team" that will work with Ubisoft San Francisco (responsible for "Rocksmith" and "South Park" games). For the level design position, "multiplayer map design experience" would be a plus, while the environment artist position would focus on "creating full maps in multiplayer games in realistic settings."

In San Francisco, Ubisoft is currently seeking a lead game designer for a "new multiplatform project," requiring experience with "AAA titles" and multiplayer design for PC or console games.

When we reached out to Ubisoft for comment, they said, "There is nothing we can tell you at this time. In any case, Ubisoft does a lot of cross-continental collaborations in its games, with 14 studios getting a hand from Ubisoft Montreal on "Assassin's Creed Valhalla". The newly announced "Assassin's Creed Infinity" is the first collaboration between the series' main studios, Ubisoft Quebec and Montreal.
