Don't expect Final Fantasy 16 at the Tokyo Game Show.

During a recent Final Fantasy 14 livestream, producer Naoki Yoshida revealed a bit of information about another game currently in the works: Final Fantasy 16. What producer Naoki Yoshida told us was that the game will not be exhibited at the Tokyo Game Show, which will be held in September and October.

However, development is apparently proceeding at a reasonable pace: according to a translation by Twitch streamer Aita Kimochi, all scenarios have been fully written and English voice-acting is close to being recorded. What is keeping them away from this year's Tokyo Game Show is probably their perfectionism and desire not to say too much before Final Fantasy 16's release.

According to Kimochi, Yoshida mentioned that the battle system and "things that haven't even been touched yet" will be in the next announcement, but that announcement will not be made until just before launch.

We expect Final Fantasy 16 to appear on PC shortly after a brief PlayStation 5 exclusive, but Sony has remained tight-lipped on the matter.
