Relic Entertainment, the company behind "Company of Heroes," is running a countdown on its Twitch channel. As of this writing, the countdown will be completed in 12 hours. This means that something will be announced on July 13 at 10:00 AM PST (1:00 PM Japan time, 6:00 PM Australia time, 3:00 AM July 14 in Australia).

One need not stare at the Twitch chat to know that this announcement will be related to Company of Heroes. The stream depicts an aerial view of Italy, occasionally interspersed with relevant local black-and-white footage. The possibility of a Mediterranean-focused Company of Heroes 3 cannot be ruled out.

It is also worth noting that although Company of Heroes 2 has received occasional small updates recently, there has not been a new expansion for at least three years. If this is related to Company of Heroes, it probably means that a new one is on the way.

Not a bad time for Relic to announce a new title. Eight years is a long interval for Sega's excellent RTS series, and Relic is about to ship Age of Empires 4 in October.
