EVGA's first AMD Ryzen CPU-compatible motherboard is now available

Two weeks ago, EVGA announced the launch of motherboards for AMD's Ryzen 5000 series processors and said in a video, "A new darkness is coming..." he said. Now, EVGA's professional overclocking partner Vincent "Kingpin" Lucido gives us a glimpse of some of the upcoming parts.

Only the underside of what is presumably the EVGA X570 (or X570S) Dark can be seen, with both the Dark branding and AMD's Ryzen logo painted white. This is certainly eye-catching, but not visible from a typical PC case.

Nevertheless, a photo shared on Facebook (via TechPowerUp) with the caption "The red pill" shows some details, although we cannot actually see the top surface. Of note is the outline of the CPU and its associated mounting holes for the cooler. These are rotated 90 degrees from their normal position. This is to accommodate extreme cooling solutions.

Also, there appear to be only two DIMM slots for RAM. This is not surprising since EVGA chose the same memory slot arrangement on the Z590 Dark motherboard for Intel processors.

We can also see a pair of robust VRMs and PCI Express x16 slots. Also, looking at the metal contacts in the upper left corner of the image, there appears to be a 24-pin main power connector, two 8-pin EPS connectors, and a 6-pin PCIe connector for power from the power supply unit.

Some of the rear I/O can also be seen in the images. An antenna connector for onboard Wi-Fi, a LAN port (probably 2.5G), a USB port, and audio inputs can be seen.

Whenever this board appears, it will be EVGA's first motherboard with an AMD-designed chipset. Many years ago, EVGA offered an nForce 730a board for the Athlon 64 processor based on the Nvidia chipset.

However, it has been a very long time, and it is nice to see EVGA once again adopting AMD hardware. All that remains is to announce pricing and actually release the X570/X570S Dark.
