Dual-sense feature may be added to Xbox Gamepad, Phil Spencer says.

The Xbox Series X / S's next gamepad may inherit some of Sony's DualSense features, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has suggested in a new interview. The PS5 controller will feature more powerful and precise tactile motors and adaptive triggers. which are both very impressive. The new Xbox gamepad, on the other hand, feels almost identical to the old one (though still great).

"We're definitely thinking about different kinds of devices that can bring more games to more places," Phil Spencer told Kinda Funny when asked about Xbox's hardware plans. 'There will probably be some work done on controllers as well. I think Sony is doing a great job with their controllers and we're looking at some of that and we have some things we need to do."

"I think we're going to be looking at some of those things.

If Microsoft includes these features in the Xbox Gamepad, it would mean first-day compatibility with the PC, at least for the company's first-party titles. Sony's DualSense is available for PCs, but no software natively supports its best technology, which is part of the reason the Xbox Gamepad is still the best controller for PC gaming.

In the same interview, Spencer also reaffirmed the company's ambivalence toward VR and AR, at least as far as Xbox is concerned. He said, "Especially when it comes to VR, the best experience I've seen is Quest 2, and I don't think its untethered [nature] capabilities and ease of use need to be connected in any way to the Xbox.

Cheers, VGC.
