Former FaZe member threatens legal action against YouTuber who exposed his crypto scheme

Two weeks ago, former Faze member Frazier "Kay" Khattri was banned from the competitive gaming clan after it was discovered that he and three others were promoting a shady "pump and dump" cryptocurrency scheme. Now the YouTubers who helped spread the news say that Kay is slapping them with a cease-and-desist notice to stop the news from spreading any further.

It turns out that Kay, along with three other members of Faze who are currently suspended, helped promote the new "Save the Kids" cryptocoin. Of course, shortly after its launch, its value plummeted, and buyers lost a lot of money while promoters like Kay allegedly made a lot of money.

Coffeezilla, one of the YouTubers who created a video exposing the immediate collapse of the Save The Kids launch that Kay helped promote, wrote on Twitter yesterday that a former Faze member was threatening legal action if he did not remove his video about the He wrote that they were threatening him and claimed that he had lost "millions of dollars in revenue" because of it.

The C&D letter, which can be seen on Imgur (via Kotaku), accuses Coffeezilla of blackmail for asking Kay to comment on his investigation. Indeed, the quoted message has a somewhat threatening tone, which Coffeezilla seems to be writing:

"Kay, I'm serious. Kay, I'm serious. If you keep hiding behind these two minutes of statements, it's not going to work."

Coffeezilla also quotes several false and defamatory statements suggesting that Kay "immediately dumped all of his [Save the Kids] tokens" and that he has a history of "dumping almost every crypto project he has ever been involved in."

Kaye's statements are also quoted in the article.

Kay's attorneys are demanding that Coffeezilla retract his statements and videos, or else face a lawsuit for damages, which Kay appears to be seeking.

All along, Kay himself has been trying to paint himself as a victim; in a video dated July 9, Kay pleads with viewers, "Please, don't believe what you are hearing on the Internet," and explains that his team has found evidence that a third party masterminded the scheme and manipulated multiple Faze members He explains that he has found evidence that allegedly.

"I have found significant evidence that a dishonest person abused his trust in me to scam everyone," Kay explains."

"This person was gaining the trust of me and my friends while encouraging us to be on the front page of his scheme.

Given that Coffeezilla shows no signs of backing down (he has already used the C&D notice to post yet another YouTube video), it is quite possible that this lawsuit will indeed be taken to court.
