General
EA does not want to exclude some of the PC players in FIFA 22, so they exclude all players.

We want to know the truth, and that means FIFA 22's next-gen hyper-motion technology!

Yes, Electronic Arts has laid down the law on the PC version of FIFA 22, touting its "HyperMotion" technology, which combines motion capture with algorithms trained in "advanced match capture of 8.7 million frames."

Essentially, HyperMotion allows the viewer to see a number of custom-made animations that have been added to make the players look more realistic. This feature is designed to enhance the experience on the pitch.

However, this is not the case when playing on a PC. Hypermotion is only available in the next generation of consoles and stadiums for FIFA 22, which means that PC players will play much the same game as PS4 and Xbox One players. When we asked Electronic Arts why, we received the following response:

"Introducing HyperMotion technology and Immersive Match Day features to the PC will increase the minimum spec requirements and make the game unplayable for many players. This is a problem that has been occurring every year with FIFA. This will have a huge impact on our PC community who enjoy FIFA every year and many players will be excluded or forced to upgrade their machines in order to play the game. We look forward to all PC players experiencing the gameplay evolution and new season of innovation offered in FIFA 22.

What do you mean by "the majority of players"?

So: the reason FIFA 22 won't get next-gen-capable performance is capitalism: the PC is far from FIFA's largest market, and EA would rather offer an inferior product to a larger audience than take advantage of high-end hardware.

EA's description of hypermotion would obviously be slightly different from the reality of what this technology is doing.

What seems outrageous about this is that EA has neglected the PC version of FIFA for several years and the company has yet to come up with a solution. Sure, a lower base spec would help sell the game to a wider audience, but in this case, every PC gamer will get "FIFA 22" without any eye-catching features.
