Every Tuesday, you can play Tetris for free.

Everyone has played Tetris. It's solid, simple, and satisfying. But for those who find it a little too boring, an indie developer uploads a haunting remix of the venerable block-dropper every Tuesday to Itch.io for free.

Tetrible (developer Henri) updates Tetris every week with a whole new twist. This week, for example, a small Tetronimo joins the mix, frequently forcing you to put in half the size of the block. Lines can be cleared on this level, and regular blocks will also be cut in half, opening up countless tiny holes in your plans.

Other variations are equally bizarre. (You can only clear the line vertically (instead of horizontally), you can control two pieces at a time, you can make every tetronimo a little longer, and you can tilt the board to make it easier to slide. Henri often resurrects old favorites, but it's at least a good laugh to see what fresh hell appears each week.

The whole thing is reminiscent of Pippin Barr's Chesses (which has since spawned two sequels), taking the tried-and-true game format and taking it in dozens of wild directions. One of these, Chogue, went even further by turning Chess into a fully functional Chess roguelike.
