It would be hard to find a QHD 144Hz gaming monitor for $200.

Monoprice is offering the Zero-G 27" gaming monitor with curved VA panel for $199.99, $60 below list price. Just apply coupon code "ZEROG27" at checkout to get the discount (and free standard shipping).

This is the least expensive monitor in its class when compared in specs to what is available on Newegg. If you narrow your search to the same features, prices start around $250, and some models, like ViewSonic's VX2758-2KP-MHD (on sale for $249.99 at B&H Photo if you are interested in this display), exceed $300.

While I have not tested this monitor myself, it appears to be more than adequate, at least on paper; the VA panel is a good starting point (you usually need VA or IPS as opposed to cheaper TN screens), and the 2560x1440 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate is reasonable.

Given that we have been spoiled by displays advertised as 1ms, a response time of 6ms is not that appealing. However, response time numbers have a history of being fudged, so perhaps Monoprice is just being honest. It is also possible that this screen can be overclocked, but if so, there is no mention of that at all in this listing.

However, it does support adaptive sync, which AMD's FreeSync technology is based on. So if you have a Radeon graphics card, you can synchronize the refresh rate to the GPU for smooth gameplay; it is not mentioned as being certified G-Sync compatible, but you can try your luck with that as well.

Other features include nominal HDR support, maximum brightness of 400 nits, and wide viewing angles (178 degrees vertically and horizontally). Connectivity options include three HDMI inputs (2x HDMI 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.0) and one DisplayPort 1.2a connector.
