Co-creator of the original "Dead Space" says he is "excited" about the remake.

Before co-founding Sledgehammer Games and becoming known as the man in charge of Call of Duty, Glen Scofield worked at EA Redwood Shores (later Visceral Games) as the head developer of the groundbreaking horror game Dead Space He was responsible for the development of both sequels. He has not been involved in the development of either sequel, but after the "Dead Space" remake was announced yesterday at EA Play, he said on Twitter that the series still means a lot to him and he is looking forward to what comes next.

"Directing the original 'Dead Space' was one of the highlights of my career," Scofield tweeted.

"Can't wait to see what the MotiveStudio team at EA does with it.

Motive, the studio working on the project, responded in kind, crediting Schofield (and, one must assume, Redwood Shores) for paving the way.

The Callisto Protocol is a survival horror game in development at Schofield's Striking Distance Studios, much like Dead Space. It also looks like a neon monitor that you wear around your neck. It is also set in the PUBG world for some reason. Details have yet to be revealed, but Schofield says he wants it to be "the scariest game ever made." The game is slated for release in 2022.
