Internal Hard Drives Perfect for CoD Fans, Priced Down on Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is coming. If, like me, you missed out on Black Friday deals, it might be worth taking a peek at the Cyber Monday hub. Be free from the dreaded FOMO. [The Seagate Barracuda Pro 14TB SATA HDD is down to $409.99 at Amazon; if you plan to install the 187.9GB "Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War" soon, you might want to take a look I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Sure, it may load a little slower from the HDD, but at least it will actually fit.

Now, playing games from your HDD may not be the smartest option, but think of it this way: you can download a huge game, move it to your SSD, and be prepared for when you want to install it.

Anyway, back to the main event... The 14TB Seagate Barracuda Pro is part of Seagate's performance-oriented series. Spindle speed is 7,200 RPM instead of 5,400 RPM and it comes with a 256 MB cache; the 14 TB model has a maximum throughput and read performance of 250 MB/sec and consumes 6.9 watts in use and 4.9 watts at idle.

With eight platters, each spinning and holding a whopping 1.75TB capacity, Seagate had to house the mechanism in a sealed, helium-filled unit. Yes, you can put helium inside PC components. Isn't that what you always wanted?

So while you may not be able to play your games as is, you'll have tons of backup storage for spare games, movies, photos, music, etc. And right now, it's only a quarter of the list price of $549.99. Not a bad deal.
