Two Samsung 21" LED monitors from HP now $99

If you're in urgent need of a new small monitor - whether you want to add a digital side mirror to your huge 32-inch curved monitor or set up like a hacker on your favorite TV show - HP is now running a rather unusual promotion. It's offering a 21.5-inch Samsung SE450 for a flat $69. That's a nice enough price, but they're also offering a coupon code for two for $99.

The SE450 uses a TN panel at 60Hz and is your budget-tier panel, trading top-end image quality and viewing angles for a low price, as we describe here. This monitor supports 1080p resolution, has a gray-to-gray response time of 5 ms, a brightness of 250 cd/m2, and has DisplayPort, DVI, and VGA inputs. It comes with a 3-year limited manufacturer's warranty through Samsung.

The SE450's Amazon listing ($99.99 for one, by the way) describes it as a "cost-effective monitor" designed primarily with business use in mind. Basic and frugal, but by no means junk: the same Amazon listing gives it a very solid 4.5/5 user rating.

If you're looking for a serious gaming monitor, something like the 32-inch Dell, shown above, or the 27-inch LG Ultragear are definitely better. If you're looking for a little more shopping fun, here's a larger roundup for Cyber Monday.

But if you're looking for an inexpensive way to expand your viewing area, especially for secondary purposes like keeping your Twitch stream open while you play, these are solid units, and $99 for two is a tough price. Plus, they have free shipping. The price is also pretty good.
