Dell has announced another gaming laptop for Cyber Monday: a massive 17" Area-51m R2 laptop for $2,199.99. Prior to this deal, the same laptop was $2,498.99, a savings of about $300. (They say it's a $1,000+ discount, but that's only assuming it's a $3,230 laptop, which it isn't. Still, it's a good thing!) [This high-end system is powered by an Intel Core i7-10700K, 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 2070 Super. [The RTX 2070 Super excels in gaming laptops, and the RTX 30 series mobile chips will not be available in laptops until next year.

If you are looking for a gaming laptop that also doubles as a workstation now, the Area-51m has the performance to handle the rigors of video and photo editing and other content creation.

The RTX 2070 Super is a great card that outputs high frame counts on 1080p displays. It also delivers a 144Hz refresh rate on a bright 17" G-Sync compatible screen with 300 nits.

If you're looking for something a little cheaper and more portable, consider something like the $1,300 15.6-inch Acer Predator Triton 300. You can get the less powerful RTX 2070 Max-Q instead of the Super Edition, but it comes with a larger SSD and fits easily in a backpack.
