Cyberpunk 2077" Patch Fixes Saved Game Corruption Bug

The launch of the PC version of "Cyberpunk 2077" went much more smoothly than the console version: buggy as hell, sure, but not a serious enough mess to be delisted from any storefront. However, after a little over a week had passed since its release and players had had time to immerse themselves in the game, a serious bug, exclusive to the PC version, suddenly came to light. Cyberpunk 2077 consistently and irreparably corrupted save files that were over 8 MB in size.

CD Projekt's first response was to go back to previous saves and not overload the inventory with items and crafting materials. Interestingly, they also made no promises about a fix, only stating that "the save file size limit may be raised in one of the future patches."

Fortunately, the 1.06 hotfix released today actually fixes this problem and eliminates the 8MB file size limit. Unfortunately for those who encountered this problem, this fix does not repair corrupted saves. Sorry, but this problem will not be permanently fixed.

The update also fixes a bug that caused Dum Dum to disappear from the Totentanz entrance during the "Second Conflict" side job, and improves "memory management and stability" on the console. This is the full update, but despite the relatively small number of fixes, it is a large patch, approximately 1 GB in size. Regardless, the save file fixes are important, so you will want to get this update as soon as possible.
