Most PC gamers will know the benefits of mechanical gaming keyboards in 2020. The most common email I receive in my inbox is this.

That leaves you with more than enough choices. That's why I've been busy over the past 12 months testing as many gaming keyboards as possible and finding the top kits to include in our Best Gaming Keyboards guide. It also makes me giddy to see new and exciting keyboards.

But I often come back to one model, the Logitech G915. In an ideal world, I would use the dreamy Topre Realforce R2. But since I use a Varidesk Pro Plus 36 standing desk, a wireless keyboard like Logitech's is more suitable. The reason I say this is because one of the keyboards nominated for an award today is the Logitech G915 TKL.

But sadly, this is not my decision alone. There are several other candidates on the list that the PC Gamer hardware team has drummed up. And the Mountain Everest Max is a newcomer, but it's a modular, well-styled, hot-swappable switch keyboard that our Dave likes.

We've seen a lot of great gaming keyboards this year. Which one will win the "Gear of the Year 2020" award will be interesting to see in the new year.
