New trailer for sequel "Sons of the Forest" is hilarious and terrifying

About a year ago, we premiered the horror-survival game Sons of the Forest. We were very excited about this game, because it is a combination of horror and survival that is downright brutal and terrifying. In a good way. In a scary way.

Anyway, a new trailer introducing the sequel was released this week. It's a bit more gameplay-focused than its predecessor, showcasing the wood-chopping, digging, building, log-carrying, and other fidelities that our forebears would find bewildering in the game world. Take, for example, the excavation animation at the 41-second mark. I want you to see a man cutting through the logs of a wall under construction to make a window. Wood chips fly all over the place. It's hot.

By the way, the three-legged, three-armed ballerina woman from the first trailer is back. She's not dancing this time, but just standing there eerily. The man-eating mutants try to take away the logs cut down by the players, crawl on the ground and beg for mercy, etc. Wonderful! Humanizing monsters is fine! Exactly what I needed!

The Forest was first released as an Early Access title in 2014 and then officially released in 2018; Sons of the Forest is supposedly a sequel to the events of the first game's ending.
