Stardew Valley's Appetizing New Mod Revamps Culinary Experience

It's safe to say that cooking in Stardew Valley is a bit silly. A few clicks and you can magically produce a dish that will likely earn you a compliment from Gordon Ramsay. Even though the new 1.5 update has made some changes to the quality of life, it is still one of the overlooked aspects of what is a great game. But now a new mod is about to change that.

Thanks to Nexus Mods user bblueberry, The Love of Cooking mod will give your kitchen cookbook a shiny makeover with lots of new additions and quality-of-life upgrades. The new cooking menu now includes a search and filter system, and you can even toggle whether or not to use Gold Star ingredients. You can also batch create up to nine recipes at a time.

Meals will now dynamically recover over time based on the amount of health, slowly recovering when full and giving you the recovery boost you need when you are getting beat up by cave monsters. The speed of recovery for these recipes is determined by the new cooking skills, and the higher the level, the faster the recovery speed. It also affects the chance of food getting burnt, so if you want a more stressful cooking experience, this skill is a good choice.

A new challenge has also been added to the community center, where food must be delivered to Junimos in the forest in exchange for kitchen upgrades. There will also be a rebalancing of common recipes and new crops such as carrots and cabbage. This is a nifty little addition to the overall Stardew Valley experience and makes cooking a little more relevant than it is now.

Despite the lack of an official Steam workshop, the mod community has been booming since its release in 2016.
