Call of Duty: Warzone's Most Annoying Gun Finally Nerfed

Update Raven released a new Warzone balance patch this morning, detailing on Twitter how the most powerful weapons have been adjusted.

As is customary with Call of Duty updates, the patch notes do not include exact damage values. Players will have to see for themselves how effective this nerf is, but early indications are not promising. It is also worth noting that the pistol nerf applies not only to the popular Diamatti pistol, which has an extremely short kill time-to-kill at close range, but also to all pistols that can be two-fisted.

Original Story Call of Duty: Warzone's latest dominant gun is officially getting a nerf, as Raven Software announced today on Twitter that Warzone's next major patch will include this rifle, plus other headache-inducing guns across Verdansk The company announced on Twitter today that the next major patch for Warzone will target this rifle, as well as other guns that have caused headaches throughout Verdansk, namely the MAC-10 SMG and the popular two-gun Diamatti.

This nerf will no doubt shake up a weapons meta that has felt extremely one-sided since Cold War Season 1 began in mid-December, and the fact that Warzone's important patch notes have been out a bit longer than usual is probably because the people making Warzone have been on vacation. The reason why Warzone's important patch notes did not come out for a little longer than usual is probably because the people making Warzone were enjoying their vacation.

No word on how much guns will be hit by the patch; Raven also announced today that Warzone's weekly playlist rotation will move from Tuesday to Thursday. The balancing patch usually coincides with these regular update dates, so we may know more later in the week.

It is worth noting that the upcoming nerf will only affect the Warzone versions of DMR 14, MAC-10, and Diamatti. At least for now, the three Cold War versions will not be changed in the main house.

When Activision announced that more than 30 new weapons from the Cold War arsenal would be added to Warzone at once, the overpowered gun spree seemed almost inevitable. With so many new variables thrown into the balancing pool, it's a wonder the game isn't more broken. Still, players have noticed Cold War's gun-only quirks that give them an unfair advantage.

This is nothing new in a game as buggy as Warzone. Just before the Christmas vacations, invisible helicopters roamed the skies of Verdansk. More recently, someone accidentally brought full equipment into the camps.
