With the holidays over and the new year underway, the Epic Games store has resumed its weekly free game giveaways, and the 2021 giveaway is an FTL-inspired strategy roguelike that I quite liked in some ways when I played it in 2019, but in others I didn't care for it It begins with "Crying Suns," which I didn't.

The story of the Galactic Empire continues with next week's free game: the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition, which includes the Rise of the Skywalker update and "the entire collection of customization content available through in-game purchases. Included in the package, which is not yet available for purchase on the Epic Store, will appear on January 14 and will be distributed free of charge on a weekly basis.
