Long considered a lost title, "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" returns to the gaming world this January 14. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a stylish cartoon beat 'em up in which a band sets out to defeat seven evil ex-boyfriends. It's a wholesome piece of work, except that the main character is a jerk!

This video game based on a comic book was a big hit in the late 2000s. The "Scott Pilgrim" comic is probably 10-15 years old now. The movie adaptation was also 10 years ago. I suppose we are all marching to our inevitable graves!

Anyway, according to Ubisoft's official website, the game launches this week, with levels and upgrades for the six characters, alternate modes and a number of mini-games, which are pretty detailed for an old beat 'em up. This is also the biggest selling point of "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World": the soundtrack by chiptune-adjacent pop/rock band Anamanaguchi is really great.
