Here's your chance to get a splash-proof mechanical keyboard for under $20.

Some of the best gaming keyboards cost over $200, like Corsair's K100 RGB Optical. If you have a more frugal mindset, don't worry. Because some of the best budget gaming keyboards usually sell for $40-$50. If you want to spend even less, you can get a mechanical keyboard for under $20 right now.

This is an off-brand keyboard called Pictek, but if you check the $2 coupon box on the Amazon listing page, you can get it for just $18.39. This is about the same as the price of a regular membrane keyboard. Also, user reviews of this keyboard are overwhelmingly positive (4.5/5 stars out of 620 votes).

Of course, you don't get the same level of luxury as buying a $100 or $200 keyboard. But you do actually get those frills, too, such as spill resistance (with drain holes), removable double-shot key caps, media controls built into the function keys, and "rainbow" backlighting.

Rainbow backlighting is, in essence, multi-color lighting, which cannot be programmed. However, you can cycle through nine different lighting effects or turn them off completely.

As for the key switches, they are advertised as "classic blue switches," meaning both tactile and clicky. However, according to Pictek, they offer the same 60g actuation and 4mm travel distance.

For under $20, this keyboard is certainly worth the gamble. If nothing else, it would be nice to keep it as a backup (or secondary PC).
