When Cyberpunk 2077's Night City was first unveiled to the public, many were surprised at how sunny it was. When one thinks of a dystopian cyberpunk city, even if it is in the California desert, bright blue skies do not immediately come to mind. If you couldn't get past this, of course, there is a mod for your troubles.
I think there's room for more sunshine in cyberpunk, but I'm also Scottish, so I freak out when I see the wide open spaces over there, and with Essenthy's Climate Change mod, you can replace it with something a little more gloomy to escape the fear of the great blue sky.
Instead of the sun, you can enjoy fog, pollution, poisonous mist, clouds, overcast, and the cyberpunkest of all: rain. These inclement weather conditions appear normally without mods, but if you choose mods, they become the default and completely replace the sunny weather. Other types of weather will also appear, so you will not be spoiled for choice, but this will be the most common type.
Creator Essenthy noted that for some reason this mod does not work on the North Side and can be unstable in Badlands. They hope to find a solution when more advanced modding tools become available.
The oppressive basic setting and toxic fog is a personal favorite and reminds me of Blade Runner 2049. That's when Night City looks as evil as it actually is. Perfect weather for crime.
