Stronghold Warlords postponed until March because multiplayer is "simply not ready".

Firefly Studios has announced that its feudal Far East RTS Stronghold: will be delayed until March 9.

Warlords, the latest installment in Firefly's venerable castle management strategy series, moves the setting from Europe to East Asia and makes a number of changes to the way Stronghold handles walls and troop formations. However, previously slated for a January 26 release, Firefly has pushed the release back to March 9 due to the current state of the game's multiplayer.

"The reason for this is that the game's multiplayer is not yet ready for release." We have had some unforeseen issues and have been working hard to resolve these with the current delivery date, but we need more time to resolve them."

Firefly writes.

Firefly at one point considered releasing "Warlords" without multiplayer and adding it in a post-release update. However, as this post explains, the studio has been promising multiplayer at launch for over a year now, and Firefly feels it would be "unfair" to drop it at the last minute.Stronghold: Warlords will launch on Steam on March 9.
