Call of Duty: Warzone Drops Second Strong Nerf to Dominant DMR 14

There is one gun that has dominated every match in Call of Duty: Warzone over the past month: the DMR 14, a weapon carried over from Black Ops - Cold War, after its release in Warzone due to its manageable recoil, forgiving damage range and high rate of fire, it quickly caught fire. Last week's patch aimed at reducing its popularity had no effect, but Raven Software is nerfing the DMR 14 for the second time today.

Including several changes to the Burst Pistol and a fix for the latest infinite stim glitch, today's DMR-focused update includes:

DMR 14

Type 63

Burst Pistol (Diamatti)

Infinity Stim Glitch

Challenge

Blueprint

Today's patch takes a more drastic attitude toward the DMR 14 (and by extension the Type 63 Marksman Rifle). Essentially, the Raven moves its status closer to that of an assault rifle and away from a sniper rifle.

While the more severe damage drop certainly reduces its kill potential at long range, the bigger issue here is the recoil nerf. With the field agent's foregrip no longer lowering vertical recoil, the risk of equipping a scope for long range is greater. What today's nerf does not address are more basic stats like damage and fire rate.

As long as you are at medium range, the DMR should feel much the same as before, although the recoil is noticeably increased. Perhaps this nerf will have the intended effect of encouraging weapon diversification throughout Verdansk. In case you missed it, Nvidia announced yesterday that Warzone will soon support DLSS.
