The arrival of winter brings many things: cold, snow, treacherous drives, darkness before supper, and, to top it off, video game sales. Now that the traditional holiday sales are over, the Humble Store has launched its annual Winter Sale, kicking off the next round of seasonal discount events.

In addition to the usual deals, the Humble Store is giving away one game during the first two days of the sale: Bomber Crew, which you can get until 10 am PT / 1 pm ET on January 16; it's like FTL, but set in WWII. You manage a crew of bombers raiding over Europe and must keep the planes and their crews alive and intact against deadly odds.

Not as grim as it sounds: "Bomber Crew refuses to take itself too seriously, even as it finds new ways to blow me out of the sky. Its cartoonish style and bubblehead bombers remind us that this is by no means a simulation, even if the damage and interconnected systems of the planes are reasonably faithfully represented," we wrote in our 2017 preview." There is little attempt to model realistic physics or flight models, and miniature maps of Europe exist to get you into the action as quickly as possible." In other words, you can quickly cross the straits and be under flak before breakfast.
