PC Game Nintendos Raises $1 Million in Just 8 Hours on Indiegogo

The GPD Win 3 is currently on Indiegogo and has already reached over 4,000% of its goal in 8 hours. This shows the high level of interest in handheld gaming PCs and what happens when you set unrealistically small fundraising goals for a campaign.

So, given that the GPD campaign was only intended to achieve just over $25,000 for the entire campaign, a feat the company often achieves with its campaigns, this percentage may be a bit unusual. However, raising over $1 million in eight hours is a pretty impressive feat by any measure.

One can see why this handheld PC is so popular. It has the clever form factor of a Nintendo-Switch, but with the added PC features that are so important to us PC gamers.

The GPD Win 3 is both a portable console and a PC in its own right. Several models are available, but the basic choice is either the Intel Core i5 1135G7 or Intel Core i7 1165G7; the two Tiger Lake chips feature Intel Xe graphics silicon with 80 or 96 EUs.

The least expensive model costs $799, while the most expensive (including the base station "dock") costs $949.

GPD hopes to ship Win 3 by May. Yes, May of this year. This is the advantage of prototyping, procuring, and finishing the product before the crowdfunding campaign launches, and GPD has a solid delivery record.
