EKWB Launches Golden Liquid Cooler for Users Who Want Their PCs to Shine

I don't know if Parker Schnabel reads PC Gamer, but if he does, I have a message for him - I found your cooler... EKWB announced several all-in-one cooling solutions this week, one of which is a gold enthusiast Special Edition EK-AIO Elite Aurum. Well, sort of.

This is essentially a gold version of the regular EK-AIO Elite with a shiny pump cover. But it's not actually made of real gold (that would be tacky, right?). Instead, it has a nickel finish that resembles gold.

The same shiny gold-like nickel finish is also applied to the diamond-cut rotary hardware; for the rest of the PC, it can be paired with the G.Skill Trident Z Royal RAM kit, or dialed up to RGB lighting, It's up to you to harmonize the cooler's gold theme. Bonus points if your PC is equipped with an 80 Plus Gold certified power supply unit.

This is an all-in-one liquid cooler, so there is no assembly or maintenance required other than general housekeeping (e.g., blowing off dust frequently) Six EK-Vardar S high static pressure PWM fans (120mm) with RGB lighting are included. They are intended to be mounted on either side of the radiator in a push-pull configuration, but if doing so makes the cooler too huge to fit inside the PC, EKWB says there is another option of installing three fans in the case itself

.

A multi-connection cable hub is also included. It provides seven sets of addressable RGB lighting headers and a 4-pin PWM header; EKWB did not transform the hub into gold, but in most cases it is hidden behind the motherboard tray.

The EK-AIO Elite Aurum is available for pre-order for $230 (gold doubloons not available) and will ship early next month.

Conversely, EKWB also announced the EK-AIO Basic. This is exactly what it sounds like: a basic all-in-one liquid cooler without any flourishes. Instead of a gold exterior, it maintains minimalism with a black brushed "aluminum-like" pump cover and a black fan (no RGB lighting).

It is available in two versions: with a 240mm radiator ($90) and with a 360mm radiator ($120), both available now.
