Nvidia Shield devices support Xbox Series X/S and DualSense controllers

Nvidia has added support for the latest Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers to its popular Shield device lineup.

Shield Experience Upgrade 8.2.2 will be released to address this new controller support and other new features and fixes. After installation, simply enable Bluetooth pairing between Shield and the controller and wait for the two to connect.

Nvidia sells its own Shield controller, but since it is not included with the standard Shield console, it is far more likely that you will have a console controller instead. The latest PlayStation and Xbox controllers are also fully supported on the PC, so one controller really does rule them all.

Here is the full list of new additions in the latest update:

Good news for Shield owners who were able to get a next-generation console. Soon, however, we will no doubt see such controllers released without consoles. Sony and Microsoft's newest pads rank second and third on the list of best controllers for PCs, respectively.
