General
This Skyrim mod turns Solitude into a kaleidoscopic acid trip.

I probably haven't said enough, but I'll say it again. It was bleak, it was miserable, the whole thing was a bit silly, and yes, there was a pandemic. I guess that's why I stayed away from the dark, brooding games in pursuit of colorful, wholesome experiences like Calico. But now there's a Skyrim mod that lets you experience the best of both worlds.

The Pastel Fettuccine retexture mod transforms Solitude, one of the largest cities in the game, into an utterly bonkers pastel paradise. Everything is pastel: the bricks, the foliage, the windows, the store signs, everything. Even the gold coins are inscribed with "notice me, senior."

The mods come from "the worst enemy," or "luciple" for short, who is both himself and conveniently himself. But why the name Pastel Fettuccine, Lucypurrrrrr, which kindly suggests that the name is Pretty Awful Silly Textures Eagerly Left For Everyone That Thinks Unbearable Cuteness Can't He explained that it is an acronym for Interrupted Normal Enjoyment.

From the mod page: "Pastel Fettuccine is a retexturing mod that aims to make the world of Skyrim pretty and colorful." "Cute and colorful is the best, it makes me happy and maybe it will make you happy too." "We need happiness in the world right now."

But is it suitable for lore?" Just imagine it's paint, or a byproduct of a spell gone awry. Or maybe it's because the dragon broke!"

This cuteness overload may not be to everyone's taste, but it is a bit of simple joy in a depressing time. Even the pages of alterations feel warm and fuzzy, with the large, pink Comic Sans font daring you to go there. If you want to add a little color to your life, download it from Nexus Mods.
