Capcom is charging $1,500 for Chris Redfield's boring Resident Evil Village court.

Resident Evil Village hasn't even been released yet, and the Internet is already flooded with impressive fan art and cosplay of the popular giant woman. Fans of Chris Redfield have to decide whether to spend a few months' rent on a woolen coat that is faithful to the game.

As Kotaku reports, Capcom is currently offering Japanese "Resident Evil" fans a replica Redfield coat for 159,731 yen (roughly $1,539). Available in four sizes (medium, large, and extra-large), the "original model" is true to the lore for those with the massive, broad-shouldered build of the video game's action hero. This version is described as being based on the actual coat that Capcom scanned into the game.

Now, I'm no expert on menswear, but I think it's a bit much for a boring coat. The lack of buttons helps to show off the bulging pectoral muscles, but seems awkward for cold protection. Of course, it's not the most expensive tie-in jacket Capcom has sold, but that honor goes to the $8,000 Devil May Cry trench coat. That said, don't mistake this for a cheap coat from the high street. Even the Assassin's Creed hoodie was a bit unique

Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village will be available on Steam on May 7; PS5 players have already played the exclusive "Maiden" demo.
