GeForce Now beta version coming to Australia in mid-2021.

Last week, Nvidia announced that its GeForce Now game streaming service will roll out in Australia in 2021. The company named Pentanet as the provider, a Perth-based ISP that currently serves only Western Australia. However, today's new announcement confirms that this service will also be offered throughout Australia.

Australian citizens can register their interest in the service now, ahead of a beta version in mid-2021, and Pentanet's Stephen Cornish said, "We will not shy away from the challenge of building our own solution [next-generation wireless technology] that we know will work, as we have done in Perth. We're not going to resign ourselves to the challenge of building our own solution [next-generation wireless technology] that we know will work."

Still, the infrastructure needs to keep up with these ambitions, so for now, GeForce Now servers will be located only in Sydney and Perth for the beta; Cornish said in his announcement that beta registration will affect the speed of rollout in other cities and states. He stated. He writes, "Gamers need to be close to our infrastructure, so our rollout strategy will be guided by the level of demand across Australia, and potentially in New Zealand."

Microsoft's xCloud game streaming technology, offered as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, is currently in beta in Australia.
