Here's how to properly find the secret bow in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

This article was updated on January 28th as the correct way to unlock the secret chair bow in Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been discovered; those wishing to unlock it without the use of subterfuge (except for a subterfuge devised by Ubisoft) can do so here.

"Assassin's Creed Valhalla" players have discovered a super-powerful magic bow hidden in a pile of glowing rocks. The secret bow, created by Assassin's Creed's alien space god Is, lies beneath the rock pile. There is a secret path that no one has found yet, but you can find the rock pile, hit it, reload your save, and hit it some more.AC Valhalla's narration director, Darby McDevitt, talks about the hack:

The weapon itself was made by the ancient Is It is a very powerful bow that was made and is part of Assassin's Creed lore, but only those who are really interested in Assassin's Creed know about it. The short version is that they are god-like aliens who once ruled over mankind. In other words... Alien space archers. They were responsible for hunting, healing, dogs, etc. in ancient Celtic mythology and were identified with the god Mars in Roman mythology.

The following video by video creator JorRaptor explains how this exploit works.

Cheers, Kotaku.

If you want to get your hands on a magic bow instead of brute force, like hitting a pile of rocks over and over to reload, a real solution has now been found.

AccessTheAnimus details the steps needed to face the rock, use only the best weapons, and break the rock with whatever tricks you have. If you want to do it yourself, you need Excalibur and you need to wait until just the right moment. Excalibur is a sword that you are unlikely to get until much later in the game, but you can learn how to do it in the Excalibur Guide.

The video above details how it was figured out, so we can at least pretend to be involved in solving this conundrum. While many of you probably just want to know the solution (skip to 8.52 for that), I really appreciate being shown how it came to be discovered.
