General
For some reason, this USB microphone sells for $6 on Amazon.

Update: It is no longer there. We initially thought this could be a typical online retail quirk (e.g., pricing error), but it seems more likely that it was a fake listing. If you did place an order, please consider canceling the order and reporting it to Amazon.

Original Story Not sure if this USB microphone kit from Amazon is any good, but if you apply code 8GDVOYFN at checkout (thanks, Alex Guerrero), you can order it for $6 at the time of writing. Apparently the mic, including boom arm and pop filter, usually costs $60.

This may be a bad mic. Also, this discount could be an error and the order may be cancelled and refunded. Or who knows; spend the $6 at your own risk.

Our own Tim Clark purchased one and it is, in his words, a "strange window." In his words, "weird time difference." But again, it's $6.

If the code stops working, you'll have to put it in your cart and try it out, since we may not notice it right away and update this article.

If you don't want to roll the dice on a cheap but potentially bad product (Amazon's photoshopped images don't inspire confidence, but there are thousands of positive reviews), check out our recommendations for a suitable streaming mic. Otherwise, good luck.
