Cooler Master Announces Four High-Resolution QHD Gaming Monitors

Cooler Master is a relative newcomer to the gaming monitor market, and the PC cooling specialist has followed up two screens that debuted last year with high-resolution 27" and 32" gaming panels.

The Cooler Master GM32-FQ is a 31.5-inch 1440p IPS model running at 165 Hz. The panel has a static contrast ratio of 1,200:1 and a response time of GTG 5ms and MPRT 1ms.

Adaptive sync is offered in the form of both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible certifications, and color accuracy is decent, with 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The only obvious weakness is the brightness of 250 nits. Obviously, this is not an HDR panel. The price is $499 and the product will be available in late March.

Next up is another 32.5-inch, 165Hz QHD model, the Cooler Master GM32-CQ, this time with a curved 1500R VA panel. The GM32-CQ is entry-level HDR 400 certified with 400 nits brightness and 3,000:1 static contrast, the company claims.

Somewhat worryingly, Cooler Master does not offer a response time for the GM32-CQ, but AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility certification are part of the mix. Pricing is $499. Take your pick. A flat IPS panel for accuracy and responsiveness or a curved VA panel for contrast and punch.

Moving to the 27-inch choices, the Cooler Master GM27-FQ ARGB emphasizes IPS precision and responsiveness, with a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels; 400 nits of high resolution, HDR 400 certified, 95 percent of DCI-P3 space percent and operates at a refresh frequency of up to 180 Hz. Again, AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility features are included. The GM27-FQ ARGB costs $549 and will be available in late 2021.

The final piece of the Cooler Master panel puzzle is the Cooler Master GM27-FF, a 27-inch QHD monitor with a VA panel and a full 240Hz refresh, but with a brightness of only 250 nits, this model is only $349 and will be available soon. All four monitors can be connected to both DisplayPort and HDMI.

So there you have it. While nothing too radical in terms of specs/performance or price, all four monitors are aimed squarely at the high-resolution QHD sweet spot currently favored by many gamers.
