DLC for "Hitman 3" will "definitely" appear, IO Interactive says

The "Hitman" trilogy is complete and work is underway on a new James Bond film (which could also be a trilogy), but developer IO Interactive has not yet finished work on Agent 47. Executive producer Forest Swartout Large told The Gamer that DLC for Hitman 3 is in the works, but it is not yet clear what form it will take.

"We're definitely going to do DLC, but we haven't made it clear what that will be.

"I don't think we're thinking of any new maps like banks or islands at this point.

"If anything, we're thinking of using existing locations and reworking them or twisting them. And this time, we can use the entire trilogy. We can look back at the maps from Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2.

Raj also hinted (again, no surprise here) that Agent 47 will return for post-Hitman 3 shenanigans, saying, "We are continuing to work on Hitman, so we are already looking to the future."

That IO Interactive intends to keep the wheels turning on "Hitman 3" is not entirely unexpected. As I stated earlier this week, the game is a hit. Not only critically, but the studio called it "the most original and surprising assassination sim ever," which is quite a feat for a game series that has been running for over 20 years (and developed by the same studio), and commercially as well: by the time the game recovered its costs and turned profitable took only one week.

IO previously confirmed that Elusive Targets will return in "Hitman 3," but with some changes to the formula yet to be revealed, this "restructured" level may be a good fit.
