Xbox Series X/S controllers on sale for $50.

General
Xbox Series X/S controllers on sale for $50.

Last year, Microsoft announced an updated lineup of controllers to coincide with the launch of the Xbox Series S and X. They are now available at several retailers for $50, $10 less than the regular price.

The new controllers don't look much different from the Xbox One gamepad, but there are some important improvements: the D-pad follows the design of the Xbox Elite controller, the grip is slightly smaller, a share button has been added in the center (Windows 10 still does nothing), and the entire body has a new matte finish. The back side and trigger/bumper buttons are also coated with a texture that gives it a grippier feel than the Xbox One controller.

Even though the gamepad is designed primarily for use with the Xbox Series X and S consoles, the Xbox controller has always offered excellent Windows support. It works natively with virtually any PC game that supports controller input, whether the game uses Steam for input mapping or the Windows Xinput API. Currently, the Xbox Elite Series 2 Gamepad is my favorite controller for PC gaming.
