Call of Duty: Warzone players, beware: a skin that has been available for purchase for five months now makes players invisible. Players wearing this bug suit become partially invisible to enemies the further away they are from the enemy, making it the most effective ghillie suit.

You can see the strange effect in a recent video by Warzone streamer Scop3s. Players wearing skins become increasingly difficult to see as Scop3s moves away from them. If the player looks through the scope or points the sights down, the skin reappears, but only up to a certain distance. Eventually, only the player's head and weapon will be visible. At extreme distances, this effectively makes the user invisible. From this, my guess is that the problem is related to LOD (Level of Detail) or drawing distance.

I do not know exactly when this bug has been in the game, but the cosmetic that caused it was released in August 2020 The skin in question is the "Forest Spirit" skin, which was released in August 2020. The skin in question is a Grinch outfit called "Forest Spirit" and is only available in the Eloko bundle for 1,800 COD points (or about $18). I cannot find this bundle anywhere on the Warzone client, but YouTuber PrestigeIsKey says in a recent video that it can still be found and purchased.

A video posted earlier this week by NOPsledUPSIDEyaHEAD suggests that the bug is also happening on PC. I'm not sure exactly how far away the disappearing enemies are, but they seem to be roughly in line with the distances shared above (enemies appear even when the sights are pointed down).

This is not the first time Warzone players have struggled with invisible troublemakers; in December, they were able to make themselves invisible by exploiting the newly added attack helicopter. Activision quickly removed this aircraft to eliminate the bug altogether. Hopefully, similar options will be exercised to prevent the Forest Spirit bug from spreading further.
