Lance Reddick has appeared in everything from "Duck Tales" to "John Wick" in movies and TV shows, but for a certain gamer demographic, he, or rather his distinctive voice, is the stern, over-pronounced Titan Vanguard in the "Destiny" games, He may be best known as Zavala. Yesterday, one such gamer shared a Destiny 2 meme on Twitter and said he would love to hear Reddick read it in Zavala's voice.

The meme is based on the recent "Season of the Chosen One" trailer, in which the Empress Caiatl proposes an alliance with the Guardians. In the video, the taciturn Zavala simply says "no" to the proposal, but the meme dives deep into fanfic drivel about why he has no interest in joining forces.

It's not a great meme (it's over-written for my taste), and the drivel is something I don't think Zavala would ever utter, but it's a pleasure to hear Reddick read it out in that deeply drawn baritone. Especially when he hits high notes like "wield the darkness and beat your ass in a new way."

I stopped playing "Destiny 2" a long time ago, but if it ever gets canonized, I might be tempted to return.
