Enderal, the biggest mod in Skyrim history, is compatible with Skyrim Special Edition.

General
Enderal, the biggest mod in Skyrim history, is compatible with Skyrim Special Edition.

Last month, SureAI, the development team behind the very popular Skyrim overhaul "Enderal," announced that they would not be updating "Enderal" to be compatible with the "Skyrim Special Edition" in order to focus on commercial projects (the original version required "Oldrim" to play). However, fans have since taken up the task and created a version of Enderal that runs on the Skyrim Special Edition engine and is scheduled for release on Steam.

The benefits of playing Enderal on Skyrim Special Edition include "smoother image quality and improved lighting effects" and "the best performance and stability." Also, a VR version is now possible, and someone is already working on a VR mod.

The current version of Enderal SE, available on NexusMods, requires the original mod and a few other mods to be installed, but a standalone version is coming; the Steam page lists the release date as "March 2021." You don't even need to have Skyrim SE installed to play with this version, but of course you do need to own Skyrim SE.

If you missed playing this well-known mod the first time around, here's what the first 20 hours of Enderal looks like.
