Fortnite to host its own short film festival this weekend

Epic Games has been dabbling in various forms of entertainment within Fortnite for some time now, hosting live events such as Marshmello concerts and screenings of Christopher Nolan's epic films. And this weekend, a film festival titled "Short Night. [Wallace and Gromit], an animation by one of the film's claymation artists, Rich Webber, and a film by the French studio Gobelins L'Ecole de L'Image, the same team that created the animated chickens in "Heavy Rain" that fellow writer Rachel Somehow, I immediately recognized the work, etc.

All short films will be about 30 minutes in length and will be screened for 24 hours beginning at 2:00 pm EST on February 20 and continuing through February 21. The festival can be seen on "Party Royale," but it can also be viewed via picture-in-picture from "Battle Royale."

I have always been fascinated by the idea of watching movies and TV shows in video games. Relaxing with a virtual popcorn bucket and friends would be a welcome relief from the usual building and bullet hell.
