The next season of Rainbow Six Siege is "Crimson Heist".

Ubisoft has begun dropping teasers for Crimson Heist, the next season of Rainbow Six Siege and the official kickoff to Year 6. As announced at last year's Six Invitational, Crimson Heist follows Siege's new direction of releasing only one operator each season. This time around, it looks like we'll be seeing a bespectacled Thief.

"Sometimes it takes a more creative approach to get the job done," the cryptic tweet reads.

Almost a refreshing change of pace, but that's all we know so far about this next operator: since Siege is typically a leaky game, we knew six months ago exactly what the last two operators in Year 5 would do, but Crimson We have very little information about Heist. After defender Aruni, we can guess with some certainty that this new face will be an attacker.

Since Siege op names usually relate to the gadget or role of the op, this attacker may specialize in stealing from defenders or penetrating hard-to-reach areas (perhaps using drones or hard breaches). The reflection in the op's glasses shows the wreckage of the explosion, so he is inclined to destroy it.

"Operation" is the name Ubisoft has chosen for the season for the past five years, but apparently not this one. Now it's just "Crimson Heist." I thought the name made them stand out from the crowd, but I guess that's okay. Of course, other games would have eventually gotten used to this moniker (including other games from Ubi), but I think "Siege" has been using this moniker since its launch. Oh well, things change.

We'll likely see more Crimson Heist previews like this one from the Siege Twitter account before the full release, which is scheduled for February 21. In addition to the new op, we will also find out which maps will be reworked this time around. Given the palm trees in the background of the characters, it seems likely that Border, Bank, Coastline, or Fortress will benefit from the update.
