Valheim sells 3 million units in less than 3 weeks

Have you noticed the co-op survival game "Valheim" that has suddenly appeared over the past few weeks and is poised to become the fastest-selling co-op survival game ever on Steam? Less than three weeks after launching in Early Access, developer Iron Gate AB said, "Valheim has now been purchased by over 3 million brave Vikings trying to survive the tenth world of Yggdrasil.

This apparently equates to "74,319 longhouses full of singing Vikings."

It is difficult to say exactly why Valheim strikes such a nerve. It is certainly popular among streamers and is currently the seventh most played game on the platform, surpassing CS:GO, Dota 2, Minecraft, and Rust (at least for now). However, it has not slowed down, reaching a peak play count of 390,000 in the last 24 hours.

Whatever the reason for its success, Valheim is indeed an excellent game. As our Fraser says, it is a game that eliminates the boring parts of survival games.
