Bungie apologizes for unintentional inclusion of Nazi slogans in Destiny 2.

Bungie has apologized to fans after one of Destiny 2's latest weekly challenges was found to have the same name as an infamous Nazi slogan.

As Kotaku reported, the "Season of the Chosen One" Weekly Challenge raised eyebrows in the gaming community. Since the latest season focuses on the warlike Cabal, the game's challenges and events have been peppered with stoic, warrior-like language. [The title is also an English translation of "Blut und Ehre," one of the slogans used by Hitlerjugend in Nazi Germany.

It is likely that the developers simply missed the connotation, but the fact that it was juxtaposed with an event called "Battlegrounds: Cleansing" in which players looted chests of loot using Kabar Gold further raised some raised alarm bells. Bungie later apologized in a statement to Kotaku and promised to remove the term in an update.

"The association with anti-Semitism in Destiny is entirely unintentional; Bungie is committed to inclusion and human rights and would never support anti-Semitism. We are already preparing a fix for this in the next patch. We apologize to all players who were hurt by this reference and thank them for their concern for our community.

This is not the first time Bungie has approached the term dangerously reactionary. Early Destiny 2 armor featured an alternate right-wing hate symbol, which was quickly removed before more people took notice.
