General
Director Hideo Kojima's book will be published in English this year.

Hideo Kojima, designer, writer, and director of video games like "Snatcher," "Polisenotes," "Death Stranding," and yes, "Metal Gear Solid," has also written a book, a collection of essays to be published in Japan in 2019, on his approach to gaming. He writes about the pop culture that inspired and influenced him. The book also includes a conversation with Gen Hoshino, a musician who participated in the soundtrack of Death Stranding and is well-known for his late-night radio show in which Kojima appeared as a guest.

The Japanese edition was published under the English title The Gifted Gene and My Lovable Memes. In the introduction to the paperback edition, the title is "The Memes I Love. In the English edition, Kojima's book was published under the less quirky title The Creative Gene, subtitled "How Books, Movies, and Music Inspired the Creator of Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid."

Last year, Kojima Productions began recruiting staff for a new game, a sequel to Death Stranding, which won the 2020 Game of the Year award. Presumably, it will not be the horror game in collaboration with Junji Ito that was rumored to be in the works.

The Creative Gene will be published by Viz Media on October 12, 2021.

Thanks, Polygon.
