In this new horror game, you are a cat and your name is Biscuit.

From Scratch Studios, a small two-person indie team, Etched Memories is a horror game about a cat with a troubled past. To be honest, as soon as I read about it, I had to play it. Not to mention that the cat's name is Biscuit. Biscuit! The game is still in development, but a demo has just been released, so stay tuned to see what the game will be like.

"A gray cat named Biscuit wakes up in the middle of a stormy night to find his mother nowhere to be found," says the game's Steam page, and Etched Memories is a *deep breath* first and third-person indie horror cat It describes the game as a simulation game.

"Feel what it's like to be Biscuit as he searches for his mother through the memories he's clinging to.

I played the demo, and while it's pretty rough around the edges, it's a lot of fun to slither around as a cat. Exploring the dark, rainy forest makes you feel like you're smaller in a way that you wouldn't in most games, and it's nice to be able to pick things up and examine them, like you can examine clues in "L.A. Noire.

It's clear that this demo is a proof of concept, and the developers acknowledge that there is still a long way to go. They plan to "include special locations and Easter eggs throughout the map that can be discovered by hiking in the full version. Please note, however, that these features are not present in this demo and the forest is not that populated."

The release has not yet been finalized.

"Etched Memories" has no release date yet, but will not be available for some time. From Scratch is currently looking for professional character artists and animators to help with the project. Until then, all we can do is watch the demo. As development progresses, I will keep an eye on this one and hope that the creators do justice to Biscuit's story.
