Intel will be announcing its Rocket Lake lineup in a few weeks, and if you can wait until then, you can build your own high-end gaming PC with the latest and greatest the company has to offer. But if you're itching to build a PC right now, or just want to spend as much money as you can, check out these deals on the Core i7 10700K.

It's on sale at B&H Photo for $258.99. That's a savings of $77 on one of the best gaming CPUs, the Core i7 10700K. Now that's an even better deal. From a cost-performance standpoint, this is Intel's best chip yet.

Based on Intel's current generation Comet Lake architecture, the Core i7 10700K is an 8-core/16-thread processor with a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a turbo clock of 5.1 GHz (single core). It also has 16MB of L3 cache, a TDP of 95W, and an unlocked multiplier to facilitate overclocking. [This is mainly useful if you want to take full advantage of the fastest and best SSDs on the market (those capable of data transfer rates of 5,000 MB/sec or higher). Intel also claims a 19% increase in IPC (instructions per clock) performance with Rocket Lake.

We'll know more about Rocket Lake's value proposition when Intel's 12th generation Core desktop chips arrive at the end of March. In retrospect, however, this is unlikely to be a bad bargain. It currently sells for $344.99 on Amazon and Newegg, which is higher than B&H Photo's regular list price and $190.01 less than AMD's Ryzen 7 5800X (if you can find one).
