The Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops was released earlier today, and it was confirmed that a small portion of the new content will bring zombies to Call of Duty: Warzone. A bunch of calling cards (basically player banners linked to challenges) added to the game mention killing zombies in Warzone (found by Eurogamer) and include the following text: "In Warzone, 8 zombies before the first circle closes. Defeat them.

Over the past few weeks, various hints have appeared in the game, including the challenge machine usually found in zombie mode and an in-game voice message that a cargo ship named Vodianoy will soon arrive in Verdansk. Among the voice messages are the following: "From Captain Rosenthal. Russian ship Vodianoy... Something happened. We were transporting some strange biological material. What did we do? There was an outbreak of infection." "An outbreak of infection has occurred." "Unfortunately, we cannot contain it."

Anything more is just speculation. The Vodianoy's cargo must be starving for brains. Some believe that Verdansk is undergoing a major change, and that something that has "started rummaging around underground" will cause it to be nuked, one way to end the zombie war.

The second season of Call of Duty: Black Ops-Cold War and Warzone begins tomorrow, February 25. Also, free Call of Duty multiplayer and zombie content, including the new Outbreak mode, will be available until March 4.
