Players in Valheim are too quick to kill the bosses.

General
Players in Valheim are too quick to kill the bosses.

Over the past few weeks, millions of players have flocked to the Early Access survival game "Valheim," with many having already conquered the Viking afterlife by defeating Valheim's five major bosses.

However, developer Iron Gate Studios wants to put the brakes on this rapid pace of players taking down boss monsters. The patch (0.146.8) released today adjusts the difficulty of bosses 3, 4, and 5. Bournemouth the Swamp Blob, Mordor the Ice Dragon, and Yagrooth the Skeleton Head are now harder to defeat.

In a patch note, the developer said, "u guys are killing them too fast."

Iron Gate CEO Richard Svensson elaborated on the boss changes on Twitter, saying that Bonemass has a melee cooldown of faster, Moder's hit points increased by 2,500, and Yagluth had its "resistance adjusted" and its "HP doubled."

The patch also includes various bug fixes and tweaks; the world corruption bug that sometimes occurred when exiting the game while holding down the Alt-F4 key seems to have been resolved. Also, the setting for whether or not in-game locations are displayed during co-op is now remembered, so you don't have to check a box on the map every time you join your favorite server.

Another bug fix, literally. Deathkite cries can now be detected from a greater distance, which should cut down a bit on surprise attacks and back-stabbing by the surprisingly ferocious winged threats.

If you are having problems connecting to the server hosting Valheim or are getting a black screen when trying to connect, Iron Gate suggests checking to see if the server has been updated to a newer version and restarting it.
